Green & Graceful - "Cultivating a healthy lifestyle"
The
question that is probably popping up in your mind must be – is there a solution
to this cataclysmic problem? Well yes there is not just one but multiple solutions
but the most adept that one can find comes with the name ‘Vertical Hydroponics’.
Vertical Hydroponics is a technique to grow plants without soil in an aquatic
medium and in a vertical manner without occupying much space. So imagine if we
are able to grow our own food naturally then surely we won’t be adding any
impurities or chemicals into those, this eventually leads us to a healthy
lifestyle also we won’t have to spend any money on the chemically tainted
fruits and vegetables that we are presently buying on daily basis. Now,
one can ask how one can easily grow vegetables and fruits for his daily needs
as it require lot of effort and soil and cattle and land and resources and many
many other things? Fortunately except a little bit of effort in Vertical
Hydroponics you need not worry about the rest because there is no use of soil,
you can practice it on the roof of your 10*10 home, there are no resources
required other than a mini setup that one can buy or build himself or herself
also plants which are grown through this technique are of better nutritional
value since they experience optimum growth in controlled environment.
Vertical
hydroponics functions in a very simplistic manner you need water a little bit
of your roof top or room space (with proper ventilation), nutrients which you
can buy from market and an initial setup which is easily available in market or
you can build one using YouTube and other hydroponics related websites if you
cared to google about it. The only problem that comes with Vertical hydroponics
is that if you desire to have a large setup than this technique turns out to be
very expensive as it will require very advance and precise monitoring equipment
in such case but if you just wish to grow plants for home use it won’t cost you
much or even less if you build the setup all by yourself. With this particular
method you can naturally grow tomatoes, strawberry, potatoes, cabbage, green
bean and dozens of other kinds of edible plants without undergoing much
trouble. The difference between traditional farming and vertical farming is of
medium in the former plants absorbs nutrients from soil and in the latter the
nourishment takes place via aquatic medium but as per the quality of yield is
concerned vertical hydroponics stands nowhere less despite the fact that it is
more convenient and feasible method on small scale. Also, from the perspectives
of farmers the major problem poor farmer families face in India is regarding
land availability but if they are made aware of Vertical Hydroponics and are
provided with enough support from government or any other private bodies they
can surely produce high yields under less resources and earn their livelihoods
without paying debts for large land and other resources.
